I know I should have listened to my mother, and I hate to admit it when she’s right, but there’s definitely truth in that old adage ‘If you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it!’
This past weekend, while holed up in the most gorgeous mews house location for a girls weekend in London, I was excited to see that I was smack bang next to Couture Lab, famed for it’s eclectic pieces and one of a kind stock.
Emboldened by the luxury post code of my weekend retreat, it was a no brainer to take a snoop. Once buzzed in to the quiet darkened sanctuary, you are sucked in by the glittery baubles on display in charming glass cabinets, nestled next to exclusive accessories scattered around on marble table tops.
Bea Valdes clutch
A rummage here reveals Jade Jagger jewels along with Bea Valdes exquisite and ornate clutch bags. L’Wren Scott cocktail dresses hang happily with furs and cashmere by the likes of Derek Lawlor and Chombert.

It’s a visual feast for sure, with prices starting in the low hundreds and spiking to thousands. But if you’re looking for a gift for your nanny, (which my New York buddy was), unless you’re ready to face your very own self induced ‘Pretty Woman’ Rodeo Drive shopping moment, I would respectfully suggest trying elsewhere.
