Belstaff AW15 … layered loveliness

On a cold and very rainy Sunday night I checked in at the Belstaff AW15 presentation in trendy Clerkenwell during London Fashion Week, very happy to be handed a delicious glass of fizz and a view of a sumptuous collection for next season.

Belstaff have taken their inspiration from female adventurers for the season ahead – think Amelia Earhart and Amy Johnson wrapping up in these layers and heading out to conquer the world. With natural fibres like fur, shearling and boucle wool being key, they’ve incorporated these elements with their hi-tech weatherproof cleverness and come up with a divine androgynous casual but luxe collection.

The thing I loved about this collection was the ease with which they were all styled together. Yes, you can wear your silk palazzo pants and shirt with your leather biker jacket, but whilst you’re there, why not bung on another sumptuous layer of wool or shearling just for good measure. Because who knows, like Amelia or Amy, there might be a big adventure just outside your front door…
