Diet Coke by J.W. Anderson – a makeover must have
Last night, I popped into lovely Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge to listen to J.W Anderson talk about his creative journey and musings on his latest collaboration – the Diet Coke by J.W. Anderson bottle makeover no less. To be fair the folk over at Diet Coke had me at ‘Come to a cocktail party at Harvey Nics’ which is one of my fave spots to snoop around on any given day… but mostly on pay day…
Once settled into the sumptuous style concierge space on the 3rd floor of Harvey Nichols, and with cocktails in hand, we were treated to a gloriously informative conversation between the man himself and US Vogue columnist Sarah Mower.
From the designer’s early interest in heading to flea markets with his grandfather through to his obsession with making collages from the images he found in ladies magazines from the local hairdresser, you got the feeling that this guy is busting with creative nouse and has design moves under his belt that he has yet to show us
His Diet Coke design was inspired by the Vesuvio knit from his AW15 collection, and it’s the first time a collaboration like this has used photography to emblazon the iconic bottle.
After the thoroughly entertaining chat, guests mingled with another cocktail or two whilst talk turned to the upcoming London Fashion Week and what on earth we were going to wear… when we suddenly remembered we were in the mecca of all shopping venues with still an hour till closing. It was surprising how quickly the fash crowd dispersed and the sound of cash tills tinkling was heard throughout the store.
The Diet Coke by J.W. Anderson limited edition bottles are available from Harvey Nichols stores nationwide or online here.
With thanks to Diet Coke and Harvey Nichols for the lovely invite.
