Festive decor ideas with VV Rouleaux
One of my absolute favourite parts of getting into the Christmas mood has got to be the bit where you actually get to deck the halls. My interior tastes bounce from an attempt to be grown up and minimalist with pared back neutrals, right through to throwing all of the available colour spectra at it and creating a veritable colour-fest. For the latter the best place to start any inspiration has got to be VV Rouleaux – the interior worlds answer to Mr Ben’s Costume shop.
This week I took my annual pilgrimage to their Marylebone Lane store, an old world haberdashery which gets totally transformed at this time of year – this year think feather-clad exteriors. Now normally for me, this is where all sense of a planned theme unravels as I pick my way through their eclectic and downright awesome offerings for the season.
This year, for example, I was looking for a table runner ( possibly blush pink) and a few garlands of pine to add the finishing touches to my mantle-scape situation. Ten minutes after entering their delight of a store I find myself armed with enough silver ribbon to wrap a kitsch mummy, a variety of cute knitted tree decorations and the most beautiful new fairy for the tree. I needed absolutely none of it, but it put me in that seasonal happy place suitably inspired to turn my home into a festive grotto once more.
Alice looking like she’s been down the rabbit hole with the festive cheer already.
I opted for this long silver ribbon for a central table runner in the end.
Wondering if the crown is a little too much even for me…?
If you don’t have the chance to head in store before Christmas they are despatching items right up until December 23rd, so you still have a chance to plunder their amazing array of decorative ideas.
For a little peek at some of the pieces which made it to my tree check out our decorating day from yesterday below…
Designers Guild pine cone (more of their deccies here)
Marks & Spencer large lit bauble (more Marks & Spencer deccies here).
The White Company small tree and baubles (more The White Company deccies here).
A few decorations I’ve picked up from my local favourite emporium One Forty in Cranleigh
So if you haven’t already transformed your home into a festive wonderland why not make this weekend the time for a little uplifting interior decoration…
