Leather coat – what’s the deal?
You know those tricky spring days when the sun is shining and you are bursting to break out your lightweight looks, but then step out the door and find that it’s still perishing outside? Well, those are the exact type of days you need to be chucking a leather coat into the mix in your sartorial thought process.
I know suede is set to be a big mover and shaker for spring, but there’s no arguing that a classically cut leather coat can bring a lot to the party. Mix with other cult classics like a stripey top and jeans, and you will have that Parisienne insouciance sorted.

I love this leather coat from new online store Finery. They launched this London Fashion Week and are set to bring us contemporary collections but with an eye for detail and an emphasis on quality at a very sensible price point.
I’m also a bit of a fan of a Breton top when paired with a pointy flat for spring. I’ve bought into the lace-up shoes trend too this season, so loving the fact that I can now get my hands on lace-up pointy flats – double obsession whammy!
Having invested in the Shrimps faux-fur stole, I can’t recommend this highly enough. I survived an impromptu spin around my local high street the other day thanks to the stole; on yes, you’ve guessed it, one of those days which looked super warm from the coziness of my kitchen, but ended up being a windchill-freeze-the-studs-off-your-rockstud-Valentino’s kinda day.
The bucket bag is big for spring – I’ve already (possibly) got a few too many bags, but a girl must keep up with modern times, so I’ve got my eye on this lovely L.K.Bennett one which is a size down from their uber popular Jenna bucket bag but will still fit the bill for me.
So that’s my weekend spring looks hit-list sorted – what’s on your new season wish list?
