New Season Sneakers

New Season Sneakers

There’s nothing quite like a box fresh pair of sneaks to set you up for the new season. But if you’re about to snap up a pair, it might be worth taking a quick five minutes to figure out what the new crop of sneakers is all about. Unlike past seasons where a gal could merrily opt for anything from a classic Adidas Gazelle or a bright white Stan Smith safe in the knowledge that she was nailing the right trend, this time around there’s a pile of trainer choices on the block which work equally well for work or play.

The new season sneakers we’re falling for are actually those which mirror the upcoming SS18 trends. Think colour blocking, pastels, embellishment and slogan details for starters. Even full-on sporting sneakers are getting the on-trend makeover so you could, in fact, make it a double whammy and perk up your work out wardrobe at the same time. We’re also loving anything in a luxe fabric like satin or in a street style appropriate camo print.

The White Company leather jacket, J.Crew knit, Vince satin skirt, Adidas Gazelles.

So how does one wear ones sneakers with style this upcoming season? For work, with that pleated skirt which keeps on giving (or a sharper looking pencil skirt if you are aiming for true SS18 fashionista status). Or pair with a trousers suit or floaty maxi dress. Whilst for play pair with cropped kick flare denims or slouchy wide leg pants (preferably with a contrasting stripe down the leg to nail a second trend).

Interesting article Sara. For a very long time I avoided trainers of every description like the plague. I was purely a ballet flats girl. But a couple of years ago I was given a lush berry velvet pair from M&S & I’ve now been turned. I’ve paired them with absolutely everything from jeans to dresses & I’ve worn them to death! Although they still look fab it may be time to add a second pair to my collection

Fell in love and went to order the wink ones from shop bop but $80 import duty added so bottled out. Don’t suppose you know if I can get them anywhere in the UK?
