Wednesday’s Wish List…Beach Cover ups

My annual search for the perfect beach cover ups has been kicked into overdrive this week, as a fab girly trip to the South of France is fast approaching, yet my waistline does not seem to have got the email about reducing it’s mass by two dress sizes in time for late June. The problem has been exasperated by my current addiction to salt & vinegar chipsticks (the food of the gods) and the requirement of a medicinal glass of sauvignon blanc each night…doctors orders ‘natch.

First up on my wish list is this perfect Melissa Odabash toya embroidered jersey dress.  With embroidery and sequin details it will get you safely from the beach to the bar when the sun goes down.

Next up this colourful Missoni poncho. This is about the closest I ever get to indulging in Missoni. Their beachwear range has the same luxe textured fabrics but is easier on the bank balance.

Every vacation suitcase should be equipped with at least one crisp white cover up. God knows how many I’ve bought over the years and ruined whilst hoicking it over my recently lotioned bod. This J.Crew cutie comes at a great price point, leaving you guilt free to chuck it away at the end of your vacay.

If you’re still in the ‘got it/flaunt it’ camp, take a peek at this Topshop striped number. Granted there might be a lot of flesh on show, but am loving the colours and the mesh fabric will give you uber breeziness.

For more of that ‘I’ve just stepped off my yacht’ feel, you can’t go wrong with this silk Matthew Williamson tunic. Throw over your bikini for a languid lunch or pair with cropped skinny jeans and heels for cocktail hour.

A romper is not a bad choice for a beach ready option. This gorgeous strapless one from Alexis has just the right hue to show off that glowing tan you’ll be working on, or at least the last remnants of that fake tan you slapped on before you left home.

I’m always a sucker for a bit of Vanita Rosa – awesome colour ways and boho styles each season in the softest linens – what’s not to love?

Finally a maxi is always a good call for a cover up. I’m loving this Vix striped jersey one which has me yearning for tropical shores rather than this rainy London day.
