What to wear for the Summer Season.
When early spring rolls around each year, I seem to find myself signed up for various summer season events which require a posh frock or two in my outfit arsenal in order to attend. This year is no different what with school speech days, a flit to the races and Grange Park Opera landing in our neck of the woods, there’s a pile of good reasons to figure out what to wear for the summer season ahead.
We touched on summer event dressing last year with this post. But this year my summer season has been sorted in one fell swoop by L.K. Bennett and their aptly named ‘The Season’ edit. If you haven’t checked out this collection which has started dropping into store and online recently now’s the time to pounce.
We took a couple of The Season dresses to gorgeous Lime Wood Hotel recently to road test them against an elegant backdrop.
With not too scary price points, beautifully structured pieces (which can hold all sorts of body shape issues at bay for a special occasion) and some divine on-trend details. The Lela dress above is perfect for sorting upper arm woes out… also check out the Phia, the Cecily and the Marnie for great sleeve coverage. Whilst the Corin embroidered dresses are great for creating the illusion of a waistline where you might have none with clever floral detail right around the waist.
Portia wears Corin blue dress which also comes in a yellow version.
If you’re not quite sure how to dress for your body shape hop over to our Start Here page for some advice on flattering your figure.

This post is also linked up to a series of great posts by other bloggers on all sorts of subjects. Curated by the fab Catherine Summers from Not Dressed as Lamb – it’s the perfect spot to find some new reading material each weekend. You can find it on the #SaturdayShareLinkUp here.
