3 Ways to work… this season’s silk scarf.
If you’ve had your eye on the street stylers at fash week recently, you may have spotted the rise of the silk scarf. These little cuties started appearing tied insouciantly around the odd fashion editrix sleek neck for the SS17 shows in September, and for the season ahead savvy designer bag companies have incorporated them into their new season offerings. So now is the perfect time to deploy them for a luxe accessory add-on which won’t cost the earth but will have you looking like you know which way the fashion winds are blowing.
First up grab your silk scarf and tie it around a top handle handbag in a zesty spring shade for an update. I used this Hermes scarf and tied it around an old J.Crew top handle bag – luckily in this season’s must have yellow, so I have a double win on the trend front right there in one hit – huzzah!
Secondly, try tying a small silk necktie around your wrist and give your arm candy a rest for a while. This J.Crew silk scarf is the perfect size to wrap around the wrist twice and still have a little frou-frou bow on top for good measure.
Finally, work a little Parisienne retro chic into your look by tying a silk scarf as a neck tie. Pair with a crew neck knit or simple white shirt and you’ll have a new season micro trend nailed.
