Philli Wood … the story
I popped into the Philli Wood for Warehouse presentation this morning and was wowed to find an infusion of beautiful brights as soon as I walked across the threshold. Let’s face it, it’s a bit dull and dreary out there, and what with more storms on the way in the UK, what better way to cure your winter blues than a splash of colour from this cheery collection.
Philli Wood got her break via the Warehouse partnership with the British Fashion Council’s Colleges Council. They run a competition asking course tutors to submit portfolios from the graduating year. Philli beat out the competition to win herself a 6 month placement with Warehouse, where she was able to take her designs from sketchbook through to production, campaign creation and the PR/marketing launch.
The launch itself even dropped a nod to her colour crazy schemes with these funky bites on offer, created in the same colour popping vibe as the collection.
Philli Wood … the collection.
Her collection was initially inspired by American Indian Inuits. She used images of cable knits rather than cable knits themselves to create the illusion of knitwear, and went on to come up with this bright, colour clashing collection.
Loved this multi textured bomber jacket and techno parka with giant cable knit print.
Simple but effective detailing on this cable knit print kaftan….
Fun colour clashes – perfect for summer…
And the cable knit print followed throughout….
The collection is available in store and online today… click here for a peek.
