Sports luxe … the low down
These days sports luxe has moved on from just a spangly pair of high tops and a retro track jacket. If you want to nail sports luxe this season, there’s a clue in the title… we are talking luxe textures and pairings.
In the past I’ve shunned the Sporty Spice look for fear of looking a tad too Waynetta Slob in public, but there’s a lot to be said for this new incarnation of the trend. With the right mix of sumptuous fabrics, there’s no reason why you can’t pull off sports luxe for all manner of occasions, from weekend wear right through to a cocktail event.
Although sports luxe can incorporate anything from jackets to shorts, I’ve opted for some track pants in the most awesome taffeta mix from Rag & Bone. I spotted these beauties on line & figured they surely couldn’t be as delicious in the flesh as they looked on the screen of my MacBook. Ever the shopaholic, and of course all in the pursuit of research, I snapped up a pair. Having worn them a couple of times, I can’t tell you enough a) how awesomely comfy they are and b) how seriously beautiful they are … I’m wondering if they might work as jimjams once the spring season is over….?
Rag & Bone track pants, Club Monaco silk sweatshirt (similar here from Vince), Zara jacket, Miu Miu heel, similar here by Rebecca Minkoff or here by B Brian Atwood. Whistles backpack, J.Crew bangles, Whistles necklace from years ago, but similar here from Bauble Bar.
Sports Luxe … how to wear it 3 ways.
