T-shirt dress … what’s the scoop?
For me the t-shirt dress has long since been a spring staple. They whisper the onset of summer and the casual dressing joys ahead; when the boss is on his annual bucket and spade and the work appropriate dress rules loosen that tiny bit… that’s the time to start slinging your t-shirt dresses on with gay abandon.
With the arrival of ladylike luxe as a trend over the past few seasons, designers have begun to take a new look at the t-shirt dress idea and started introducing a touch of richness to the mix. Step forward this cute Karen Millen suede dress, with it’s subtle texture notes and patch pockets, it’s a classic addition to your spring closet which will work right on through to the start of the autumn months.
In the right fabric the t-shirt dress can do you proud in the office, but could also nail a weekend look if you’re headed out for a lunch with your gal pals.
T-shirt dress … how to wear it.
To keep the statement simple when working the t-shirt dress this spring, stick to neutral additions. That’s not to say you can’t go a little bold on the prints front. I love this Isabel Marant pony hair jacket – mashing pony hair with the suede in the dress has a nice feel to it. The jacket is a steal on The Outnet sale site right now so get clicking here if it tickles your tastebuds like it does mine.
A pair of block heel J.Crew sandals in the same animal print vein caught my eye for this edit too, as did this chic pebbled tote from Mango.
I finished off the look with a J.Crew necklace, some Alexander Wang sunnies (on sale at The Outnet) and this cool patterned Chan Luu scarf.
