London Fashion Week … outside the Erdem SS15 show.
I had a fun day yesterday at London Fashion Week. I had a bunch of blog meetings in the morning, followed by a hook up with one of Getty Images photographers who was tasked with taking a street style shot of me for an upcoming interview…more on that in a later post.
Whilst organizing to meet up with the lovely Kirstin Sinclair, I tracked her down to the Erdem show at the Old Selfridges Hotel, which is in fact a cavernous space at the back of Selfridges on Oxford Street.
Having whizzed through the delicious food hall at Selfridges, miraculously without stopping to buy anything – it always looks and smells soooo good in there; I spilled out onto the pavement just as the Erdem show was emptying out.
I went old school and actually rang Kirstin to try and GPS our meet up, whilst doing so I suddenly realized that Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof were right next to me having a sneaky post show break. With my trusty Nikon at the ready (with its ‘re-set to factory default’ settings after last Friday’s debacle with it) I morphed seamlessly into street style photographer – or at least as seamlessly as I could with my Tabitha Simmons heels and groovy up-do from Toni & Guy’s earlier Fashion-Fix.
Loved Alexa’s PJ blouse which is a collab between Shrimps and PoplinLondon.
Pixie Geldof working the pink-for-winter trend like a pro
Daisy Lowe and Disney Roller Girl’s Navaz Batliwalla chewed the cud over the top hits in the Erdem show.
I love Navaz’s laid back style.
Effortlessly cool models post-show, who’s only must-have accessory seems to be a phone…
Whilst this dude gave good stetson-with-suit.
London Fashion Week … street style like a pro
I tried to remember what the fab Adam Katz-Sanding had taught me during the LuckyFABB streetstyle workshop last year…something about finding a happy coincidence between your subject and the background/environment you are snapping them in. Sadly the best I could do with this lovely model was matching her hat to the back of a bus,
And then matching Daisy Lowe’s outfit with a builders vest….clearly I need more tips from Kirstin on how the pros do it.
This is the gear I needed to be wearing…
And this is the pack to be hanging out with….
Then it was time for my street style shot – more to come in a later post.
