Leather dress … what’s the scoop?
I’ve been dithering over buying a leather dress for a number of seasons, ever since one of my clients in New York picked up the most gorgeous Vince blue leather 60’s tunic dress on a personal shop. I snuck back days later to Neiman Marcus to snag one for myself, only to feel bereft as they had all sold out. Ever since then I’ve been keeping an eye open for what might be the perfect one to fill that aching void.
More recently the leather dress has come of age. It’s not all Cher & Madge strapping themselves into Jean Paul Gaultier these days, it’s more about designers making use of deliciously supple and luxe leathers, and crafting them into classic silhouettes which are figure flattering to boot.

Leather dress … how to wear it.
I’m loving this W118 by Walter Baker leather dress. Not only is it the perfect hue for the season, it also is a great all rounder on the silhouette front. You can dress a little shift shape like this up or down, and work it equally well for both office and evening. There’s also a great shaped Baukjen one right here in the same oxblood colour.
Throw on one of these fab River Island fur snoods and a wrap for the chillier autumnal days – I love this Madeleine Thompson one, but you can get similar at a slightly lower price point from L.K. Bennett too. Add a pair of over the knee boots, which are a gals best friend this winter… these Topshop cuties fit the bill at a great price.
For a bit of bling check out J.Crew and their ever-awesome statement necklace collection. I’m also loving these Markus Lupfer embellished gloves.
I love an oversized clutch at the best of times, make it a Baukjen ponyskin and dalmatian print and I’m completely sold.
