Satin culottes – what’s the story?

Culottes are one of those garments that have me struggling to shift the notion that I feel like I’ve done them before – but in a bad way! Think 9 years old, polyester floral paired with wedges and a bleak smile – yes – you’ve guessed it, my mum made me wear them back in the day. This time around though with the advent of delicious luxe materials being thrown into the mix, satin culottes might very well be your holiday party winner.

Take these satin culottes from ASOS for example – not only in THE colour of the season but also cut in just the right weight of fabric so as to make them feel super sumptuous as soon as you pull them on.

I paired them with this simple L.K Bennett cardigan and this rather gorgeous Whistles faux fur coat – which it’s got to be said, is the most scrumptious thing I’ve bought in a looooong time – they come in a bunch of different colour ways, but I fell in love with this lavender one – snap one up whilst you can here.

I have these kitten heels from Boden from last season, but also have my eye on these Tabitha Simmons heels, or these flats from Boden. I’m also a bit partial to a bling ring or two – this one is an oldie from Kenneth Jay Lane but check out Butler & Wilson for some cute ones, or Shopbop for affordable pieces.
