Black & Blue … trends to try

Black & Blue … what’s the scoop?

This season there’s been a pile of different hues to play with, but one of my fave mash ups is putting black & blue together. Black might well be a winter staple, but when you throw a little navy blue into the mix, it not only lifts the sombre tone but also adds a touch of luxe to your look.

I picked up one of these Whistles faux fur coats at the beginning of the Autumn in a longer cut, but when I spotted this shorter version in navy, I definitely switched allegiance. I can’t spot it online right now but here is a link to a few different colours. Whistles are awesome at tracking down items from their stores and getting them to you, so if you have a hankering for the blue one, give them a call …. here’s their store locator page.

January is bleak at the best of times. so is the perfect month to break out those woolly pullies you got for Christmas – if you landed a cashmere one then don’t go saving it for best, get snuggled up in it to beat the winter blues. This charcoal sweater is from All Saints.

If you’re looking to switch up your tired old boyfriend jeans for the New Year, you can’t go far wrong with opting for a darker wash denim for a crisper vibe. I snapped up these J.Crew Eastwood jeans with a twisted side seam and now can’t live without them. I paired them with these lace-up caged heels (also J.Crew) which remind me of the Aquazzura ones which I had my beady little eye on before Christmas but failed to snag.

You can’t beat a good bobble hat in this weather either – similar Topshop one here.

I’m not sure whether my doggies were keen to see me or to make the aquaintence of the new furry Whistles friend…
