Bomber jackets borrowed from the boys

When I say bomber jackets borrowed from the boys… I actually mean bomber jackets borrowed from my teen son who is on a gap year in sunny Australia, (so why not grasp the opportunity to nip into his rather on-trend closet and borrow his Lanvin bomber jacket whilst I can get away with it right?) If this isn’t your first time at the bomber jackets rodeo and strange LSD like memories of bizarre 90’s incarnations of this classic retro jacket are popping into your head, fear not these cuties have come a long way. They are a weekend staple which work well for layering during this dodgy transitional weather and can be dressed up or down depending on where you are headed.

To be fair the bomber jacket has been around for the past few seasons – check back on this post around about this time last year. The difference this season is that the look has gone mainstream and can now be snapped up in anything from a military vibe to an oriental embroidered vibe (check out Zara here), right on through to the bomber masquerading as a shirt + bomber combo at 3.1 Phillip Lim

I like to wear jackets oversized, so this Lanvin men’s one ticks the box for me (similar Urban Outfitters one here). I paired it last weekend (to a fun flat lay Instagram workshop in Brighton) with this J.Crew striped knit, Current Elliott raw hem jeans and Prada espadrille brogues.
