Wide leg pants to love.

I’ve had a bit of a thing for wide leg pants for some time, but being a total shorty finding the right pair is always a bit of a chore. For this season and moving into next, however, these cuties are having a bit of a moment so there are a ton to choose from and it’s worth jumping on the band wagon early by perhaps snapping up a few in the sales which are still ticking along.

I picked up these Weekend Maxmara linen wide leg pants at the beginning of the summer, but opting for a darker hue means I can transition them through to the Autumn pretty easily. I paired them with a Baukjen Skylar tee (watch out for another post about the star trend coming up soon), along with these cute Christopher Kane white flats (complete sales bargain) and this gorgeous Rae Feather bee basket.

To ensure you snag the right pair of wide leg pants without looking like a clown, track down a pair which fit well at the hips and waist. There are some crazy wide trousers out there, so think about pairing the width of your pants with your proportions. Too wide a swagger on a petite person will merely swamp you, but a taller gal can certainly pull off a wider hemline. Don’t forget there’s always the tailoring card to play, so if you find a pair which fit well and are maybe a little too wide or too long, snap them up and whisk them to your local tailor to get the perfect fit.
