AW15 shoe guide for your lust list.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been a bit of a shoe fan. If I can’t afford to nail a whole fashion trend in the clothing department, I can often figure out how to do it on a smaller scale via the medium of shoes. This season is no different, with a slew of shoes landing in stores which can show off your nouse in the on-trend style stakes. So here’s a quick AW15 shoe guide for your checklist.

First up statement heels are still a strong look for AW15. You don’t have to reserve your statement heels just for big event nights – I tend to pair mine with easy basics like boyfriend jeans to perk up my look on a weekend to head out for dinner, just to make sure I’m getting that cost per wear out of them. Labels to look out for include Aquazzura, Sophia Webster, Valentino and Nicholas Kirkwood at the high end. But you can also pick up some great high street statement shoes from Whistles, L.K. Bennett, Kurt Geiger and Topshop.

Then don’t forget about the hottest ticket for the past few seasons – the statement flat. The more comfy cousin of the statement heel, you can get an enormous amount of wear out of these little cuties. Think pointy flats, embellished details, and this summer’s big hit – the lace up ankle. But it’s not all about the pointy variety – even loafers and oxford brogues are getting in on the action with a little bejewelling here and a metallic or patent influence there.

Next up are the super comfy sneakers which are definitely high on your agenda if you’re currently working in the fash biz. It’s all about mixing your office wear with your trainers a lá Melanie Griffiths ‘Working Girl’ back in the day – but this time around there are oodles of flirty details available on your daps (for all those Welshies out there) along with the Stan Smith Adidas classics revival.

Finally, boots are back in a big way. If you want to ensure you’ve got the trend just right make your boots over the knee ones, but otherwise enjoy a vast array of 70’s influence with block heels and beyond. There’s something here for everyone – and given the rubbish August we’ve been having in Blighty – you might want to put boots first on your AW15 shopping list.

Our AW15 trend newsletter will be coming out in the next week or so. If you would like to sign up to receive this and other Notes From a Stylist subscribe to our email list on the front page here, or pop your details in the subscription form on the sidebar of the blog.

Happy shoe hunting!
