Blue hues

Blue hues for spring

blue

I’ve always had a bit of a thing for a blue hue. There’s something about this crisp nautical colour that has spring written all over it. It’s a great neutral whatever your skin tone and is definitely a lighter take on winter’s traditional option of black.

I’ve adopted blue as my go-to basic, and as such seem to have a gazillion bits and pieces in this colour stuffed in my closet. So, for spring, I figured it was time to break them all out at the same time.

I picked up this spring leather coat from new online store Finery. It’s a little on the thin side, so for now I’m doubling up my jacket layering by adding a good old denim jacket for warmth underneath. It also comes up super long – great for those people blessed with tallness but I cut mine down to suit my lack of height with a pair of kitchen scissors #DIYSkills

These Belgravia flats by Aquazzura have been on my hit list for a while, I couldn’t find them in stores to try on so I finally cracked and bought them online. I’m always a bit reticent to do that as shoe sizing varies so much. However, I’m happy to report they are true to size and are super comfy to boot. There are loads of lace-up flats around for spring which range from gladiator flats to these cute pointy ones – take a peek here for more inspo. Boden also do a great high street version of the ones I’m wearing.

So, that’s my spring neutral sorted… which colour neutrals are you investing in this season?
