Brunch for a birthday boy.
No.1 kid turned 18 this past week….eeeeeek (runs to mirror to identify where best options for immediate botox are needed, whilst drinking 4 litres of water in effort to detox and lose 14 lbs by lunchtime…) So, whilst ignoring the gravity of the situation i.e. am only getting older and probably not very gracefully, we hosted a fun brunch for the birthday boy and some great pals who were staying the weekend.
We popped a bottle of Dom Perignon on ice, and laid out a sumptuous table full of delicious choices.
A bit like my mum, I only get the posh stuff out for a special gig, so I got to use all my LSA serve wear which was fab; including this cute honey jar and also got to test the J.Crew honey I’d picked up at the opening of the Sloane Square J.Crew store hosted by the lovely Laura Fantacci recently.
LSA haze tumblers and champagne saucers
Once the table was set, we put our glad rags on and got on with the job of pouring the fizz.
Pippa wears Coast Lulla lace dress.
Millie wears dress by Parker
Rosie wear neoprene top and skater skirt by Hollister.
Then it was time to dig into the feast…
We experimented with an egg basket concoction I’d first seen on The Londoner, Rosie Thomas’s blog here, but I hadn’t paid enough attention to her instructions so we kind of made it up as we went along – but they were still damn good!
The birthday boy got to unwrap some pressies – from retro albums for his DJ gigs,
To a lovely old watch from Granny, which had been Grandad’s before he passed away this summer, so she had it spruced up and passed on to Sam – bless – a little tear in the eye moment had by all…
Sam wears Whistles heavy rib roll neck.
A little more fizz was then required, before a big fat dollop of birthday cake from Patisserie Valerie.
What did the birthday boy get? Why a nice navy tux from J.Crew and a few bits from Mr Porter – perfect for any coming of age pressies.
