BuyMyWardrobe … a chance to buy in

BuyMyWardrobe … what’s the scoop?

I’ve been a big fan of the BuyMyWardrobe team ever since I signed up as a VIP seller, and actually made money on some of my unused designer clothes and accessories, which had  been languishing in my closet for a number of seasons.

I’m a self confessed shopaholic for sure, but it wasn’t until I moved back to London after 5 years in New York, that I realized I might also be a bit of a hoarder.

As I unpacked the umpteenth clothing box which had made it’s way back across the atlantic, I suddenly realized that some of the delicious designer items I owned hadn’t even seen the light of day in the USA, and were simply being shoved back, unworn, into the same closet they had been dragged out of all those years previously. At this point, and with a whole new season of Brit designer clothes to get my hands on, it was time to call up the experts in pre-loved clothing sales, the BuyMyWardrobe team.

BuyMyWardrobe … a chance to buy in.

Having since worked with the BuyMyWardrobe team on the Stylists we Love project and learnt a little more about how the re-sale market is gathering pace, I was pleased to see that they are currently working on a crowd-funding opportunity. As more and more of us are getting the social consciense bug regarding our wasteful lifestyles, this is definitely an intriguing project.

Here’s what Kal Di Paola, the BuyMyWardrobe CEO has to say…

“Since launching in Aug 2012 we’ve achieved some significant milestones. To maintain the momentum of our growth and to carry out the many more exciting plans we have for BuyMyWardrobe we were looking at ways to raise more funding. As our community is at the heart of what we do, we loved the idea of extending our relationship with our users to bring them onboard as shareholders in our business, so that they can enjoy the journey of our success alongside us” Kal Di Paola, Founder and CEO of BuyMyWardrobe

With a minimum of £100 investment in the crowd funding pot you can join the fashion revolution along with big hitters like Carmen Busquets (founding investor behind Net-a-Porter) and Mimma Viglezio (former EVP at the Gucci Group) – let’s face it, if those gals (who know a thing or two about the fash bizz) are on board… this is worth a peek.
