Camo – what’s the scoop?

I’m not normally a winter green kind of gal, but this season for some weird reason, my stylist eye has been involuntarily twitching every time I espy something olive green or camo in the stores. I already snapped up a cute Baukjen olive roll neck earlier in the season, but when I spotted these Current/Elliott camo skinny pants my winter green obsession took another twist.
These camo pants are waxed so have that super-slick feel to them which gives them a slight edge for a date-night choice or a weekend cocktail bar option. They are super flattering with a low rise and I love the side ankle zip detailing.
I wore my camo pants with this Nicole Farhi sleeveless chiffon top (blush version here) and layered up with a basic LK Bennett cardi. The shoes are last year’s Boden, but I’ve spotted some cute Tabitha Simmons lustworthy oxblood heels here. The bag is Sophie Hulme which I’ve used to death over the summer, and just about put into hibernation, but then luckily came across this new oxblood one (slightly smaller in stature than my summer fave, but equally delicious).
The necklace is Bauble Bar – similar here. Bling ring is Kenneth Jay Lane from a few years back, and grey wrap is L.K. Bennett.
Camo – how to wear it.
This whole comfiness-with-camo thing got me thinking – if I can work a pair of pants in battle-ready colours then why not other stuff? So I took myself over to Polyvore – which I still like to use despite the proliferation of Pinterest, and found myself some more lustworthy camo items.
One thing to remember when taking on the camo print, is to treat it like you would any other print or pattern. If you are on the diminutive side, pick a print with smaller detailing. If you are on the Amazonian side – knock yourself out with big and bold prints as you can certainly carry them off.
