The clock is ticking…come November 15 we will be able to get our hands on the new H&M and Maison Martin Margiela collaboration both instore and online.
The collection promises to be a re-edition of iconic pieces from the MMM archives for men and women, which I for one can’t wait for. Each piece will have a unique tag depicting which season the piece originated from, because of course, who doesn’t love a little MMM tagged item in their closet somewhere.
There’s the usual MMM magic here. The silhouettes are oversized yet still compliment the female frame. A touch of exposed tailoring gives the collection a modern feel, whilst the use of ironic transformation means we see gems like a car seat cover dress and a glove coin purse. It might be fashion rhetoric gone mad, but you know what, it kind of works. And at H&M price points, I’m not complaining.
