You can only be having this much fun in New York’s Soho House in new clothes right? Well, whichever excuse I pull out of the bag, there always seems to be a deep and meaningful reason for the items that I buy each week. Let’s face it, I’m a serial shopper. I don’t think a week goes by without some kind of transaction on the fashion front. It’s not really the crazy ‘I need an intervention’ kind of obsession. I like to think of it more as a hobby that keeps me sane.
Hubs has decided it’s time for fiscal prudence, so I figured I should try and keep track of the stuff I buy each week, along with the oh so sensible reason why I had to have it.
So this week, I’ve been pulling clothes from Saks 5th Ave, in my local hood, for models in a charity fashion show that kicks off next Thursday. Perfect – it’ll be an opportunity to shop with 10% of the spend being donated back to the good cause – what’s not to like about that? There will be no fear of retribution from scroogey hubs.
Sadly, this serial shopper can’t even wait till next week. Having put one of the lovely mom models into a fab Ralph Lauren reversible leather coat (so yum I can’t even tell you), a neutral drapey top and THE most gorg acid bright yellow crop pants from Theory – the pants had to be mine. A few clickety clicks on the computer keyboard – job done.
A little sojourn into Calypso revealed a shirt that would act as the perfect neutral foil to said crayola crazy pants…
But then Sis in Law required some other bits she wanted shipped to London from Calypso online, which always begs the question (in my addled mind anyway), is there something I’ve missed? Do I need what she needs too? Clearly the answer to that is always in the affirmative. So here’s my loot from Calypso to add to the list.
Calypso Tops : Sweetheart Cami $59, Lace Cami $65
The awesome Ralph Lauren coat is on the back burner…sadly it’s price point is a little too hefty to slip past Mr Fiscal Prudence this week… I’ll let you know…
