Cotton beach dress… what’s the scoop?
Whenever I’m in a hot country and need to head out to the market or local stores, I always reach for my standard summer cotton beach dress. There’s something about a cotton beach dress which keeps you cool and comfy yet whispers classic style. We are hanging out in an uber cool villa in Spain for our family vacay this week, and as it’s fun to shop local, this morning I threw on my dress and got ready to head out to the market.
Bracelets Chan Luu, sunnies Illesteva, ring Soru Jewellery.
This summer my fave go-to piece is this cute Zimmermann hydrangea-print and embroidered dress which I snapped up from Matches Fashion at the beginning of the season… sadly sold out now… but there are plenty of other cuties out there to tempt you. I’m a bit partial to anything by Juliet Dunn right now, and also Melissa Odabash and Heidi Klein make it to my resort wear faves list.
A cotton beach dress can actually nail a number of occasions – this one got me through a very hot afternoon at Wimbledon earlier in the month which you can read about here.
I’m also slightly obsessed with this Sophie Anderson crochet bag for holidays – it worked a treat when I was in St Barts back in February so got the thumbs up for this trip too. My Valentino espadrilles are also getting their cost-per-wear numbers sorted. And yes, that Eric Javits fedora is still a holiday fave too.
