Fair Isle knits – what’s the scoop?
The thing I love the most about the onset of chillier weather has got to be getting back into thick woolly jumpers. I’ve always had a bit of a yen for Fair Isle knits, so was pleased to see that amongst the swathe of roll necks and sweater dresses heading our way for the winter season, there are also a fair few of these cuties amongst the pack.
By chance, this week is also Wool Week – which fits perfectly with my urge to switch out my late summer closet with my winter woolies. For loads of interesting facts, figures and events going on with the Campaign for Wool take a peek here.
I paired this Boden Fair Isle knit with these Whistles culottes, Miu Miu sparkly shoes and Sophie Hulme bag.
Fair Isle Knits… what’s in store?
So do the traditional Fair Isle knits that we remember have to be reserved for those classic cold weather pursuits like country dog walks and raking leaves in the garden? I think not! I think these snazzy retro knits are now quite acceptable anywhere from the office to a night out with your mates. Here are a pile of pullies which made it to my winter hit list – click the icons to shop.
