F&F AW15 … whilst being serenaded by Paloma Faith
It’s fair to say press day season is fun. Not only do you get to espy what’s just around the corner on the fashion front, but you also get to scoot around to interesting venues in London. Last week I headed to The Savoy for a lunch date and salon show for the F&F AW15 collection. The lovely thing about an old school salon show is that you can sit and view the clothing from all sorts of different angles, as opposed to seeing it fly briefly down a runway on a gazelle-like model sprinting for the home straight at fash week. On this particular day, we were also treated to an amazing live performance by Paloma Faith, who was rocking a piece or two from the collection to boot.
Whilst we took our seats and munched on the yum offerings from The Savoy, I also got the chance to catch up with some lovely blogger types as we battled it out to get the best foodie shots to Instagram…
F&F AW15 … what’s the scoop?
Well, if you thought that 70’s trend was going away anytime soon, then you’ll have to re-fasten you high-waisted suede culottes and settle down for the long haul. The F&F AW15 collection was an homage to all things 70’s. From the gorgeous suede pieces…aforementioned suede culottes…which are already available here.
To these perky dresses perfect for transitional layering as the season spills from late summer to chillier autumn climes.
There was a fab mix of autumnal retro hues – loved the idea of this leather bra top… not sure I’d have the guts to wear it though (even layered like this).
There were also cute evening pieces, with culottes popping up again on the radar…
Up close and personal these pieces were definitely more luxe than I would ever have imagined, and whilst not a super fan of 70’s I’ve got my eye on a couple of leather and suede items which would fit quite nicely into my closet for next season.
The collection lands in store from September, but those canny folk over at F&F are releasing 9 pieces early as part of their “Next Season Now” campaign. So if you hop on over to their site here... you can snap up some of their bang-on-trend key pieces before they sell out.
