The Tulle Trend and how to wear it.
I’ve always liked a touch of tulle. Maybe it’s a throwback to distant mems of ballet classes and pink slippers, but there’s something quite beguiling about the fabric and this season the tulle trend is hitting just the right fashion notes. Whether you’re a romantic puff-ball skirt fan, or you fit more into the embellished playsuit style camp, there’s a spot of tulle out there to suit your needs.
I bought this gorgeous tulle skirt from J.Crew and thought it might be just perfect for some summer parties ahead. I paired it with a simple knit (also J.crew) and my trusty Aqauzzura heels.
Tulle by its very nature has a diaphanous thin waftiness about it, for which also read see through. So make sure the piece you are looking at is either lined or like this J.Crew skirt has plenty of layers to protect your modesty. It also has the power of plumping out your proportions, so be wary of wearing these cuties anywhere where you already feel slightly wide of girth. My hips are less wide than my shoulders so wearing a puffy skirt felt ok, but when it came to the waistline, I was a bit in two minds. Pairing the skirt with a simple J.Crew knit did the trick of slimming down the waist area.
