J.Crew pop up shop London : Like a kid in a cashmere candy store.

If there’s one thing J.Crew seem to get right season after season, it’s got to be their cashmere. This spring is no exception with oodles of delighful crayola bright colours in all sorts of cuts and styles. Yesterday I sidled up to the J.Crew London pop up store and took a snoop inside.

The store is offering cashmere knits and also showing off some of the Fall 13 looks from their collection, but that’s a whole other blog post. For now let’s talk knits.

The cashmere thing is a bit of a double edged sword for me. I own tons of them, but am always left wanting more. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but when I’m grappling in my closet for something to throw on, there’s always that ‘if only I had that colour in this cut’ or ‘that cut in a stripe or a polka dot.’ So you can begin to see why I’m such a sucker for this brand. I’m not saying they are all my cup of tea, the preppy twin set still doesn’t rock my world no matter how many embellishements or ribbons adorn it. But the boyfriend V-neck?  Now that is something I can buy in spades.

As usual if you’re under 4 foot and below voting age you don’t get to miss out either. The Crewcuts collection is equally covetable, it’s just a shame those little critters grow so much…

Whilst in London Jenna Lyons and the J. Crew posse have been bringing the love and teamed up with Central Saint Martins fashion school on a series of projects. One is to create a cashmere knit – the winning design will be picked for production and sold through J.Crew.

You can also snag a beautiful bedazzled collar or two at the pop up shop, to work alongside your sweater in that inimitable Jenna Lyons bung everything on at the same time stylie.

For those of you lucky enough to get to the London pop up store this weekend, you not only get to pick up some of this stuff, but you can also get it monogrammed to boot. The store is open from 24-25th May and is located next to Central Saint Martins at the back of King’s Cross in the Western Transit Shed.
