Jacquard tops… what gives?
I’ve always had a bit of a thing for brocade or jacquard tops, so when the trend for all things weaved-on-a-jacquard-loom popped back up on the trend charts last winter, (and refuses to go away for this upcoming fall btw) I figured it was time to jump on in.
The great thing about anything jacquard is that it has a delightful lustre about it. It can be worked by day or night, and generally as a fabric is quite structured; which means forgiving on the old wobbly bits front (hiding all manner of summer holiday over indulgences).
Osman jacquard top, Pinko jacquard coat, J.Crew statement necklace…similar here.
I wore this look for my nieces 18th birthday lunch at The Oxo Tower Restaurant over the weekend. You might have guessed that the classic Brit summer has kicked into its usual format, and it’s flipping freezing here already – hence the need to layer up.
The bright eyed amongst you may have spotted that my Pinko coat also has a jacquard vibe going on… don’t judge, if a gal likes a trend then why not dive right on in – in for a penny in for a pound as they say.
