Lace skirt … spring trend alert
If you’ve been keeping an eye on the fashion press of late, you might have started spotting some of the spring trend reports which are proclaiming what we will be wearing over the next few months. Sales season is pretty much done apart from a few last ditch lovely bargains around (I’ve got my eye on the extra 20% off here at Matches … ends midnight 28th Jan 2014, and the new stuff just added to J.Crew sale here.) But with some savvy shopping, you can certainly nail a couple of the upcoming spring trends from those very sale sites.
Being a sensible kind of a gal, I’m quite taken with the lace skirt trend, which is set to sweep the nation once the weather warms up a bit. Hot on the heels of the winter’s ladylike trend, lace has cornered the market in the chic but sexy fabric stakes. With modern techniques allowing for the addition of a little stretch into lace fabrics, it’s got to be one of the season’s most flattering and forgiving must-haves.
Lace skirt … how to wear it
You don’t have to work the full ladylike look when donning your lace item, but for an office appropriate take it’s a no-brainer. This gorgeous Erdem lace detail skirt is on sale at Matches right now, with it’s chartreuse hue (which is set to be hot for pre-fall too) you will certainly be ditching all notions of being a shrinking violet at your workplace when you don this baby.
I’m pairing mine with this cute fur-trim crop top (another spring trend). This No.21 one also has a little lace detail to boot, so I’m seriously amping up my on-trend score with these two pieces.
If the chartreuse colour is a little too feisty for your taste, dampen down the impact with this cute pastel J.Crew tippi merino sweater… I have these in almost every color, they are a brilliant staple piece for your spring looks.
