Khaki green to nail the new season with.

I love this transitional time of year when new collections are dropping into stores, and you can begin to get an idea of what’s ahead for us trend wise. But along with it comes that problem of how to segue your vibrant summer looks into a more dumbed down autumnal tone. One of the best ways to do it I’ve found over the years is to introduce a little khaki green to your wardrobe to signal the start of a new season. And this year, designers and high street brands alike seem to be agreeing with me. Say hello to the ever useful new season khaki green vibes.

I snapped up these silk khaki cargo pants from Theory last season (similar hereand am happy to report that they are keepers. The luxe silk fabric works equally well from day through to evening and have that really nice relaxed fit. By hopping on to the khaki green trend this upcoming season, you are also by default buying into the military trend, so without really trying you are hitting double trend pay dirt – boom!

Similar J.Crew velvet block heels here.

I’ve worn this J.Crew denim shirt to death this summer (partly due to the lack of warmth in Blighty but also partly because it’s super versatile). Here I’ve paired it with J.Crew leather jacket and necklace (similar here), Marni gold cuff and Mansur Gavriel bag.

Khaki tones are often associated with neutral dressing making it easier to introduce these hues to your current wardrobe. Pair with your summer brights now and then later with AW17 on trend colours like red, navy and camel.

New Khaki vibes… where to shop.

For me, the best buys in a khaki green can encompass anything from simple basics like everyday pants and sweaters through to more luxe items like silk shirts and satin shoes which are great for an evening take on the trend. Here is a smattering of gorgeous things out there to think about adding to your wardrobe. Click the images to shop.
