Oversized sweatshirts … the skinny
I’ve been tinkering with the oversized sweatshirts notion for the past few months, drawn in by the idea that I can throw on a comfy piece and still look on trend. My sticking point has been that I’m not blessed in the height department and each time I’ve tried the trend I’ve looked totally swamped.
Although petite ranges have come a long way in most high street stores, designer styles still stick to their view of an ‘ideal’ model height when producing their collections. Having pondered the issue I came up with a winning solution and a two-pronged attack on the problem.
First up I pounced on the new slew of cropped oversized sweatshirts which are landing in store right now, and then paired the result – my super soft Elizabeth and James metallic plaid sweatshirt, with a circular bonded jersey skirt from Cos which creates a great silhouette. Throw in a little J.Crew beaded collar shirt and my current fave Miu Miu pointy metallic heels and I’ve got the trend covered.
I added a pop of color with this cute pastel envelope clutch and some Sisco & Berluti beaded bracelets.
