Oxblood accessories … Fall must haves.
If you’re looking to head straight into the Fall14 trend game but are a little short of readies this month, the easiest way to kick off your assault on fashion-trend-nirvana is to throw a few oxblood accessories on with your outfit.
Oxblood (or burgundy, or wine or whatever else you’d care to call it) has been slowly working it’s way into the autumn/winter colour palette over the last few seasons. Whilst most of us have been wired from an early age to assume that black is the only way to go for winter, the more intrepid amongst us might well be open to road testing a few other cold season tones. Along with navy, charcoal and army greens, oxblood is set to be a winter winner again.
I found this Dorothy Perkins bag online – I was looking for a cross-body bag to get me through London Fashion Week this week, which I could just sling on leaving me hands free to scoot from show to show with my trusty Nikon D800E. Another fash week essential are a pair of sturdy flats… I’m currently in love with these Tod’s loafers.
The coat is Derek Lam from a few seasons ago… I found it in the back of my wardrobe recently, and suddenly figured it looks vaguely akin to those Burberry ponchos that are flying off the racks this season…score! There’s a similar Derek Lam one here at Barneys in slightly different colour ways but still cute.
I’d forgotten how much I love this coat – it always gets comments when I wear it simply because of it’s quirky cut. Someone once suggested the pattern cutter must have had a few beers on the go when they were snipping the material up for it….chortle!
The trousers are Campbell Capris from J.Crew and have just made it to my workwear hall of fame – I think I’ve got them in a bunch of colours for Fall – I love the crop, the fact that they are stretchy and the slightly kicked out hem at the bottom.
The top was on sale at Question Air before the summer, they have a similar silk top by Century Seven here. The necklace is Bauble Bar – there’s a similar bib style here. The statement crystal hinged ring is by Eddie Borgo and currently on sale at The Outnet.
