Postcard from Ayers Rock Uluru
I’m not the first in line when it comes to camping, but when we’re talking glamping in the shadow of Ayers Rock Uluru with a glass of fizz in hand at luxury resort Longitude 131, then I could be persuaded to tarry a while.
We took a two-night stay with the fam at this fab resort and were treated to a few days of awesome adventures and activities in and around this iconic spot in the Red Centre of Australia.
With plenty of attention to detail when it comes to your comfort in the harsh environment, the tours and trips are scheduled in the early morning or at sunset and are jam-packed with interesting snippets and local cultural stories to make you feel like you’ve actually learnt a thing or two by the time you depart.
The tents themselves are totally air-conditioned with awesome uninterrupted views of Uluru, and 5-star amenities which make you feel right at home from the get-go.
Our first adventure was a sunset walk to the base of the rock with a little sustenance along the way to assist our intrepid journey…
Followed by an amazing dinner under the stars…
Our next expedition was an early morning jaunt to Kata Tjuta – so a serious brekkie was called for…
Back in time for a delicious lunch…
Sunrises are as impressive as the sunsets here…you can leave the automatic blinds up on your tent and let the sun wake you up…
There’s plenty to take in during your stay, our youngest Max is 12 and I reckon that’s a good age minimum to work from for this trip, any younger and the attention span thing might be a problem. They even catered for his every need when it came to offering slightly dumbed down fine dining – on our last night he was treated with his very own personalized menu…
Definitely an amazing spot to add to your itinerary if you are heading down under,
You can book this experience through luxury tour operators Mr & Mrs Smith
