Roll neck sweater … what’s the scoop?
I’m a bit of a knitwear fanatic, so when autumn kicks into action with its chillier vibe I reach straight for my roll neck sweater from the midst of my overflowing closet. I have a specific yen for anything oversized and chunky, then throw in a roll knit and I’m sold. I wonder if its a throwback to when my mum used to dress me in my big brother’s hand me down jumpers back in the day – they were always super oversized, but seriously snuggly.
Luckily, us fans of the woolly pully are in for a treat this season, as our good old mum-knows-best garment is set to be a standout on the sartorial scene.

Roll neck sweater … how to wear it.
I’ve been wearing my Velvet by Graham & Spencer roll neck sweater with with denim cut-offs this September, but now that October has ushered in rainstorms and hubs has officially allowed me to turn on the central heating, then I’m upping the ante and pairing my knit with almost anything. For the weekday I’m loving the oversized knit coupled with a pencil skirt for that insouciant headed-to-the-office-but-can’t-quite-leave-my-weekend-look-behind kind of feel.
I love the colour of this J.Crew No.2 pencil skirt, but if you find it a tad too punchy, they have plenty of other more autumnal hues online too.
Amp up the snuggle factor with this great Elizabeth & James Marilyn fleece and shell jacket (on sale at The Outnet right now…) Add some cute but slightly sensible heel height booties like these ones from LK Bennett, plus this Alexander Wang bucket bag and you’ve made your roll neck sweater totes office appropro. A little Shourouk bling finishes the look off.
