I’m having a bit of a thing about statement sweatshirts this summer. I’m not sure if it’s some kind of backlash to dressing up during the week for fashion events and press previews, but come Saturday, I’m all over the slouchy sweatshirt and boyfriend jeans lark.
It’s not a recent affliction. Way back in the 90’s when varsity sweatshirts were the thing to have, I bugged my big sister to send me oversized college sweats from Chicago where she lives.
Back in the day I was pairing my prized pullovers with lycra leggings and Reebok hi tops. This time around I’m working my statement sweats with anything from pencil skirts and heels for office appropriate, through to skinny leather pants and bomber jackets for a night out on the tiles.
