Scandi Interior Inspo.
On our recent trip to Copenhagen (which you can catch a glimpse of here), we were lucky enough to stay with our gorgeous friends Kirsten & Jesper and their fam in their ridiculously cool home which was busting at the seams with Scandi Interior style. I guess it’s not unusual given that they are Danish and all, but what always strikes me about their style is how they manage to blend that light and bright minimal aesthetic that our Nordic friends are famous for with a touch of vintage chic making their home a delight to hang out in.
The thing that has always had me loitering in the ‘maybe not’ camp about Scandi interiors is the muted tones and stark monochrome minimalism. But when you throw in a little life and soul by adding vintage family keepsakes, textural details and pops of colour through the medium of accessories, then it becomes much more my cup of tea.
Kirsten works with famed auctioneers Bruun Rasmussen, so there’s no wonder she has a good eye for design. Take a peek here at this post about her home when we lived in New York. Add to that her eclectic taste for a period piece or two and you have a warm and utterly welcoming space perfect for putting your feet up after a long day.
