Shearling snow days
We eventually had some snow in the Surrey Hills this weekend. I know it’s not on the grand scale of good old East Coast NorEasters which we loved when living in New York, but hey, snow is snow! So even if it only lasts the best part of a morning it’s time to consider the perfect snow attire for those of us who aren’t necessarily hurtling ourselves down the neighbours slalom hill but actually looking to stay stylish and snug – say hello to shearling, my go-to winter warmer for such weather.
Acne Studios shearling jacket, J.Crew jeans and cashmere turtleneck, Penelope Chilvers snow boots, Paul Smith scarf,
The jacket is Acne Studios which I got a season or two ago from Matches Fashion in one of their fab sales. I’m always snooping around sale sites but they’re kind of seasonal, so another great place to snap up bargains are the pre-loved clothing sites which are doing really well right now. I’ve worked with the lovely team at BuyMyWardrobe before – check out some of my style advice posts for them here.
There’s also Vestiaire Collective who are always worth a peek – packed full of designer must-haves which ‘early adopter’ fashionistas have grown tired of already and moved on to new season purchases… what’s great about all these sites is that they check the authenticity of the pieces being sold, so you’re guaranteed amazing quality kosher designer pieces.
