Designers and brands are lightening up this upcoming season and adding a few shouty slogans to their Spring/Summer 17 offerings. Some are politically inspired while others are pure wit and whimsy. Whichever style you lean towards simply pick one item and wear with pared back separates so your shoutiness stands out.

If you remember this trend the first time around back in the 80’s courtesy of Katharine Hamnett and Wham slogan tees, then think again. This incarnation is much more subtle with the emphasis less on packing a political punch and more on pushing positive vibes into the universe. This is a fun trend for spring, and you can buy in at any level. I’m a bit of a Bella Freud fan, but you can find equally quirky styles at Markus Lupfer, Whistles, Etre Cecile and Kenzo. For work, you can pair your statement slogan with something tailored for a fashion-forward take on office-appropriate. But perhaps the best way to sport your shouty attire is on the weekend with athleisure lounging wear or good old fashioned denim for a relaxed look.
