Silk shirt for summer
When it comes to summer dressing, there’s something quite perfect about a simple silk shirt for perking up an everyday outfit into something a little more chi-chi. I have a thing about oversized shirts at the best of times, but make that a silk oversized shirt and I could very well ‘capsule wardrobe’ my way through the season with it.
I spotted this gorgeous Amanda Wakeley silk shirt earlier in the season and have just begun breaking it out in between rainstorms. I’ve paired it here with these J.Brand wide leg denim culottes and Gucci slippers and all I need now are a few sunny days in which to make the most of it.
I’m always a sucker for a plain shirt, but there are plenty of patterns out there too in the silk shirt department. If you’re doing a lot of travelling this summer, opt for one with a silk mix with chiffon or georgette for easy packing and fewer wrinkles once you get to your destination.
Silk shirt… where to shop
To find your perfect silk shirt check out the sales which are now in their final few days… some with up to 70% off so possibly the best time to snap up one of these beauties. Remember to treat your silks with care – a hand wash rather than a machine wash will keep them looking lustrous for longer.
In terms of winning brands – I love anything by Equipment, Iris & Ink over at The Outnet, and J.Crew also offer great value for money pieces.
