Snow Day style picks.

If you’re heading to the slopes this season or simply looking to kit yourself out to avoid getting caught short in a wintery flurry, there are plenty of snow day style choices out there to keep you both warm and on trend at the same time. Thanks to the advent of all things Ath-Leisure over the past few seasons, snow gear has benefitted from a little makeover, and it’s no longer the lumpy neon scariness that I remember donning back in the day to attack a red or a blue run… I’m certainly not in the black run league that’s for sure, the rest of my fam will attest to that.

I tend to be in the neutral monochrome camp when it comes to pulling on snow gear. Whether it’s as above in light neutrals or classic navy, black or a more spritely red, it’s easier to trick the eye into thinking you’re looking a bit slim with all that bulk and layering on if you keep to one simple colour scheme all over. Once you start adding different hues to your bottom or top half, then you get into all sorts of colour blocking mayhem which can make you look larger than you would like.

Also thanks to all the techno advances in cold weather fabrics layers are thinner giving you a more streamlined shape than the Michelin man looks of the old days. I love anything Bogner (only in the sales though), Fusalp or Falke for playing the layering game and also got into reversible layers by Alp’n’Rock when we were living Stateside.
