Spring coat … grab one before they’re gone.

You might have noticed amidst all this diabolical weather, that stores have begun to display their new season pieces over the last week or so. My all time favourite new buy this time of year, has got to be a spring coat. There’s something about investing in a big new season piece, which makes me feel like spring is only just around the corner.

This season, thanks to the onset of all things pastel in the colour trend stakes, there are a bunch of uber delicious sorbet colours coming our way, my current fave of which is this delicate pink.

I’ve seen a bunch of pink coats online all of which seem to be disappearing at a rate of knots. So it’s time to get with the programme and grab your spring coat before it’s gone.

 

 

Spring coat … how to wear it.

This season the spring coat comes in a cocoon fit, a boyfriend fit and even a trench with a cute nipped in waist. To work yours to its best effect, try pairing it with some of spring’s other pastels.

I paired this fab French Connection cocoon coat with an equally subtle blush coloured jumper from Reiss (which has some on-trend lace sleeves to boot). I liked the juxtaposition of the light and airy pastel, with the slightly chunkier feel of this black leather skirt from Karen Millen.

Whistles has done itself proud on the pastel front for spring. These Margaux shoes won’t be available for long, so snap yours up quickly.

The pastel look is even spilling over into accessories like sunglasses – you can snag a good quality pair from most high street stores these days – I like these Whistles ones for their slightly cat-eyed shape.

Finally a good colour blocking bag to pull all the parts of this ensemble into one, like this Karen Millen box bag, and you have yourself an outfit ready to take on spring by storm.
