Statement shoes… what’s the scoop?

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt throughout all my years of styling, it’s that a pair of statement shoes can switch up your outfit from ‘meh’ to ‘wow’ in a nano second.This season is no different and statement shoes are here to help us navigate our way through the tricky ‘summer trend’ path ahead.

I recently found these Sophia Webster heels on sale and they just sang to me…. I had been to the Sophia Webster AW15 show at London Fashion Week and was already a bit of a fan. But was looking for something a bit wowza to take me through a pile of events from the Chelsea Flower Show to Royal Ascot and beyond.

There’s a classic old style rule which decrees that all you need to actually sort out are your shoes, your bag, and your coat and who cares what on earth you’re wearing underneath it all ( as long as it’s something obvs!). This is quite a liberating concept and I’m hitting the upcoming spring season with this whole mantra in mind.

But do all statement shoes have to be 100mm heels? … you know what…. I don’t think so. There’s always a lot to be said for comfort over glamour, and  these days shoe designers are offering all sorts of statement shoe loveliness from high to low end, and high to low heel height.

To nail the statement shoe trend this season, just find the shoes which make you and your feet feel happy, fit well and have a little wow factor to boot.
