Summer essentials … what does a gal need this season?
I’ve been getting my head around a few uber glam trips I’ve got coming up over June and July, and trying to work out which summer essentials I will need on the packing front. First up is how to last two nights in Venice (with an overnight trip back to London on the Orient Express) along with two of my oldest gal pals, when space is limited to carry on luggage.
I’ve always been a bit of an over packer, but with the thought of cramming all a few of my favourite summer essentials into one bag on the seriously luxe Orient Express, I’ve decided this year, more than any other year I’m going to edit my vacation picks down to the smallest pile possible. Tough call right?
So what’s out there which will rock my vacation look in such illustrious surroundings (a girl has to bring her A game to this problem after all) but still isn’t going to cost me an arm and a leg… as the trip itself is kind of doing that!

So here’s a quick edit of some of my top summer choices to stuff into a bag for a weekend getaway.
There’s an embellished neck tee in a nautical vein, some delicious crochet shorts and sensible trainers to sort my sight seeing day out. I’ve opted for an Ikat print day dress and also a camisole maxi dress, which could cover anything from afternoon tea by the pool to a trip on a gondola. A simple neutral palette, classic silhouettes and a few pops of colour, et voila – your weekend ready wardrobe.
