I ought to ‘fess up to something before I start waxing lyrical about Tibi, the lovely Amy Smilovic is a friend of mine, and I did manage to bribe her with Lego for her kids if she gave me backstage access to her recent NYFW show this time around – (Lego’s duly delivered already…)
That said, I always love a Tibi show – it’s all about fun slinky looks that you can wear uptown or down. From her collection we saw daywear with a retro 90’s vibe, signature bold prints paired with cozy shearling. Some lovely kooky juxtapositions of delicate pastels teamed with faux furs and delicious evening wear offerings from a white tux to a scarlett onesy to a cute prom skirt that definitely had ‘buy me’ written all over them.
The new ad campaign featuring Olivia Palermo is also a great fit for the brand – the theme of ‘uber city chick does capsule wardrobe whilst travelling the globe looking glamorous’ is in fact quite true to form and echoes remarkable similarity to Amy’s jet setting life.
All in all for Fall 11 there aren’t that many pieces I wouldn’t invest in… for affordable favorite though, I’d have to pick the bright pink beanie hat & arm warmers – they are sooo going on my wish list.
