Tommy Hilfiger Fall 15 … game on!

You can always trust the big hitters to come up with a show, and as Tommy Hilfiger is not only one of the major players in American fashion, but also a consummate showman, the Tommy Hilfiger Fall 15 show was something to behold. Not only did he take us to the pitch side, he also ensured that, thanks to his teams’ innovative social media schedule, we could even access behind the scenes whilst waiting for the runway show to commence.

Being a bit of a geek at the best of times, when the call came to challenge the Social Media Concierge to provide us attendees with whatever might tickle our fancy, I was definitely punting a few suggestions out. I love the controlled chaos of a fashion show backstage, so when prompted, the concierge pinged me some great shots to post whilst the stadium/venue filled up.

The digital jiggery pokery didn’t just end there. To celebrate 30 years at the top of their game, Team Hilfiger also offered two limited-edition styles which premiered on the runway and were instantly available at Tommy.Com. There’s this cute clutch or this 30th anniversary sweater...

What’s not to love about shopping from your seat at the show? Genius!

Tommy Hilfiger Fall 15 – from sketch to runway

One of the other things I love about a runway show is when you get to see the actual sketch details each look has been developed from. For someone who definitely does not know one end of her HB2 pencil from the other, it’s kind of like peeking behind the wizard’s curtain.

Here are how some of the fab looks started and ended up…

So the upshot? Fab show, great retro collection mashing up American Football with a ‘Love Story’ inspired theme. It was totally in line with the ‘throwback’ trends we are seeing this summer and into next fall. With a vintage muted 70’s colour palette to boot, I can see plenty of gals joining the Hilfiger team to sport the looks… as long as they don’t remember them from the first time around that is… *reaches for aged family photo album and tugs out awful 80’s-at-college photos with intent to destroy…
