Tuesday’s Trends…photo prints please.

I don’t know about you, but I love a good ‘in your face’ print. Granted, you could stick with the same old plaid or geometrics if that’s the way you want to go, but this season is the perfect time to road test the new photo print pieces that are landing in store.

They are bolder and brighter, and quite frankly far more fun than a dowdy old stripe or check.

I’m loving anything by Mary Katrantzou, who seems to attack pattern without a rule book and certainly with a wry sense of humor.

And who doesn’t love to rock a little ski chalet moment when reaching into the closet for your office appropriate day dress. Well, now thanks to Tsumori Chisato, you can head out wearing the piste.

On the same theme, Moncler, who are up there with the Louis Vuitton team for showmanship, sent models wearing panoramic mountain views down their runway. Knowing my ski ability, that’s about as close as I’m ever getting to viewing a black run.

The deal is that designers are getting more and more au fait with new print techniques that have become available to them. So, unlike other winter based trends like plaid and tartan, this print trend will definitely transition through to the summer.

To work this trend, the print does all the talking, so ensure you pair your piece with neutral accessories. Remember the larger you are the bigger the print size you can carry off. If you’re more petite stick to a smaller statement piece.

Top tip: Keep your eye out for high street versions with a more comfortable price point.
