Last week I met Kate Bosworth in New York at the LuckyFABB event, where she talked about her collaboration with Topshop which had just landed in stores that day. The impeccably dressed Kate (wearing her own pieces from the collection ‘natch) waxed lyrical to hostess Eva Chen about paired down minimalism, and her obsession with following every detail of the creative & production process for her collaboration.
Once back at my computer there was serious meltdown going on at the Topshop site as fans were madly snapping up her gorgeous collection faster than a fashion blogger can pose in front of a camera lens….which is pretty damn fast BTW. So it got me to thinking, if I could have just one piece from the range, which would it be and how would I style it.
So, taking the drop-dead-gorgeous foil wrap skirt as a starting point, add an oversized sweatshirt to play up the slimline aspect of the skirt. Yes, it is now totally acceptable to wear your sweats to work – or at least a beautifully crafted and embellished item and not that moth-eaten one in the bottom of your exercise kit draw.
Work a little splash of colour into the look with some seasonal must-have cobalt blue, and pull the whole thing together with this seriously on style pin stripe coat from Mango for a very cool take on Miss Bosworth’s offerings.
